No sé a vosotros, pero a mí los pacientes cada vez me piden resultados más estéticos, incluso aquellos que hasta ahora apenas habían prestado atención a su salud buco-dental. El nivel de exigencia es cada vez más alto, y la estética rosa es, en muchos de esos casos, la clave del resultado, sobre todo cuando la sonrisa que tenemos sentada en el sillón dental nos está enseñando encía.

Ese fue el tema de mi reciente ponencia en Sevilla, gracias a la amable invitación del Consejo de Odontólogos. Muy honrado de haber formado parte de esta Aula Clínica, junto con mis compañeros ponentes Benjamín Martín y Alfonso Arellano.

I don't know about your patients, but my patients keep coming asking for more aesthetic results, even those who have been all their life doing very little for their oral health. The requirement level becomes higher and higher, and the pink aesthetic is, in many cases, the key point, especially when the smile we are seeing in the dental chair shows gingiva.

That was the topic of my recent lecture in Sevilla,   thanks to the kind invitation of the Spanish Dental Council. Honored to have taken part, along with the partners speakers Benjamin Biedma and Alfonso Arellano.

Conferencia dentro del quinto Congreso Internacional de Especialidades Odontológicas PIRO 2016, en Santiago de Chile.

Los que estáis en esto de las charlas seguro que habéis escuchado más de una vez: "qué suerte tienes, cuánto viajas". Y también sabréis que, aunque este tipo de viajes tienen muchas cosas buenas, el descanso y el disfrute de los sitios que visitas no están entre ellas. Conoces todos los aeropuertos, los hoteles, los palacios de congresos... y poco más. Sí es cierto que te cruzas con personas estupendas, tan apasionadas de tu profesión como tú o más, las comidas y cenas son muy entretenidas y acabas teniendo amigos en todas partes. ESO es lo mejor.

En agosto, aprovechando que viajaba a Sudamérica durante el verano español, he conseguido combinar trabajo y vacaciones. He conocido lugares que siempre había querido ver, y además he conseguido disponer de varios días para hacer turismo entre conferencia y conferencia. Un sueño cumplido.

Those of you who are lecturing, surely have heard, more than once: "how lucky you are, how many travels..." And you all know that, although these trips have many good things, resting and enjoying the places you visit are not among them. You know all the airports, a lot of hotels, conference centers.. and that's it. It is also true that you come across great people, as passionate about your work as you or even more. Lunches and dinners are very entertaining and you end having friends all over the world. THAT is the best. 

Last summer, taking advantage of lecturing in South America during the summer months in Spain, I managed to combine work and vacation. I have known places that had always wanted to see, and even managed to save some free days for sightseeing between lecture and conferences. A dream fulfilled.
